Susan Wiley, President

Susan Wiley brings hands-on expertise on how to start-up, lead, and grow a small business. After having worked in senior management in the travel and meeting planning business, she left the corporate environment to start her own company. Based on her vision for creating long lasting, effective business relationships and known for her creativity and business acumen, this business grew to over $2M in annual sales in 14 years. After selling the business, Susan created Wiley & Associates, Inc., a Merger and Acquisition company with her husband Bill Wiley in order to bring the same level of service to business owners throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.

Properly executing the sale of a business requires infinite attention to detail as well as excellent organizational and communication skills and a deep understanding of how her clients’ businesses work.

Wiley & Associates, Inc., is a middle market merger and acquisition firm with annual revenues in excess of $5M. Our goal is to represent companies with revenues between $1M to $15M. We work in many segments; service businesses, manufacturers, government contractors, IT companies, health and medical companies, to name a few. Our footprint is basically the Mid-Atlantic region, but we have worked with international as well as national clients.

A well-seasoned staff of sales associates, researchers and administrators carry out the strategic and business goals of the firm. Our well-established presence in the market provides our clients with the very best outcome, whether selling a business or expanding through acquisition.

Ms. Wiley is the primary person responsible for formulating the deal structures that are the basis for the successful business transfer process. In some cases, this includes arranging capital structure and financing for clients the firm represents.

Ms. Wiley’s past career brings to Wiley & Associates a seasoned senior executive who is an entrepreneur, a successful business owner, a leader in her field and adds her knowledge and experience gained through a 20 + year track record of successfully helping others grow their business.

Ms. Wiley is a member of the Women President’s Organization as well the International Business Brokers Association. She is a Master Gardener and a Vestry member of Trinity Episcopal Church Long Green.


Bill Wiley, Senior Vice President

Bill Wiley brings 35 years of experience to clients in need of financial and strategic planning. He has held executive positions in all areas of finance within the aerospace industry and enjoyed a second career in the nonprofit sector.

A long established career with what is now Lockheed Martin had Mr. Wiley involved in all areas of finance from master planning and configuration management, to accounting, financial planning, treasury and management of working capital. As Vice President, Business Operations for Martin’s Baltimore Division he was part of the Executive Planning Panel with responsibility for the divisions major long range and operational decisions. He was also responsible for the successful merger with Gould’s Ocean Systems Division and directed the integration of the operation into Martin’s business structure.

As Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Waste Policy Institute, Mr. Wiley managed and directed all administrative disciplines including all financial functions, legal, information systems, HR, and procurement.

He selected and managed the highly competent team of managers who took WPI from a start-up to a very successful not for profit corporation with over $30 Million in annual revenues, 200 employees, and 10 offices in the US and Russia.

Mr. Wiley is a certified machinery and equipment appraiser (CMEA) with the NEBB Institute. He also brokers the sale of machinery and equipment.

Mr. Wiley is a graduate of Denver University and has completed the Executive Study Series at Harvard Business School. He began his career serving his country as a carrier qualified Naval Aviator in the U.S. Navy.
